HGTV icons Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack were married from 2009 to 2018. During their marriage, they welcomed a daughter, Taylor, 15, and Brayden, 10.
Though they have their differences and ultimately ended their marriage, the pair has developed an incredibly strong co-parenting relationship.
On Mother’s Day, Tarek El Moussa honored his ex-wife and thanked her for being such an excellent mother to their children.
Tarek El Moussa Celebrates All the Amazing Mothers Who Shaped His Life
In honor of Mother’s Day on May 10, HGTV star Tarek El Moussa gave all the mothers in his life a special shout-out on Instagram. He recognized his wife, Heather El Moussa, first. Then, he went on to acknowledge his mother and sister.
But what really caught fans’ attention was the kind message he penned for his first wife, Christina Haack. Although their marriage ended in divorce, they both love the two children they share and want the best for them. Tarek and Christina fell out of love, but they still have a tremendous amount of respect for each other.
“And to Christina, thank you for being such an incredible mom to Tay and Bray,” the “Flip or Flop” star wrote. “Our kids are lucky to have a mother who loves them so deeply, and I’m grateful we’ve been able to build a positive coparenting relationship that always puts them first.”
“Each of you has left a mark on me and on our kids that will last a lifetime. You deserve more than one day, but today I hope you feel every bit of the love and gratitude you’ve earned,” Tarek concluded the post.
“This is beautiful I love you, honey. I love the kids so much so grateful for all of you,❤️” Heather El Moussa replied.

The HGTV Star Made an Adorable Video For Heather as Her Mother’s Day Gift
On social media, Heather El Moussa frequently praises her husband. Even from the earliest days in their relationship, she knew Tarek El Moussa was an incredibly special person. He always goes above and beyond to make her feel loved.
“It doesn’t have to be these big, big gestures,” Heather told her Instagram audience about married life with Tarek. “Like a random Tuesday, I’ll get like a beautiful thing of flowers. And it’s just unexpected, it’s not like something happened and he sent me flowers. It was just, ‘I’m thinking of you. I love you. You’re an amazing mom.’ It’s so sweet and it makes me smile. He still does those things after seven years together.”
Of course, Tarek El Moussa ensured Heather got the most special gift of all on Mother’s Day this year.
Tarek and Heather have a three-year-old son together, Tristan. Tarek interviewed Tristan for Mother’s Day and asked him all about his mother. The toddler beamed while talking about Heather, and it was clear just how much he adores her.
Overall, it seems the El Moussas had a wonderful holiday celebration.
