Anne Hathaway has had a packed schedule this year, and she doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. At the premiere of her latest film, “The End of Oak Street,” Hathaway told The Hollywood Reporter that she was surprised by how many projects she had lined up for 2026.
“When I got my schedule for this year from all the wonderful film studios that I’ve worked with, I saw it and I kind of thought I was being punked,” said Hathaway. “But then they showed me that no, no, no, all these [release] dates were going to hold, and I just said, ‘As long as audiences don’t get sick of my face’ — which I wouldn’t blame them [for]. I would not blame them if they did— let’s go.”
Her most recent film, “The End of Oak Street,” follows a family whose neighborhood gets transported to a world filled with dinosaurs. Besides “The End of Oak Street,” Hathaway has appeared in several films in 2026. These projects include “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Mother Mary,” and Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.”
Hathaway is excited to make original films
GettyThough Hathaway starred in a sequel to the hit film “The Devil Wears Prada,” most of her recent work isn’t based on existing film franchises. “The Princess Diaries” actress has been open about how much she enjoyed working on original movies like “The End of Oak Street.”
“I think it’s fun,” she said. “Obviously I love making movies, take a look, but I also love that audiences want to go see original things and [‘The End of Oak Street’] is really original. It’s David Robert Mitchell in the director’s chair, directing a script that he wrote, and I’ve never seen anything like this, so I was just really happy to be a part of it.”
Hathaway has more upcoming projects
GettyHathaway has more projects on her schedule beyond “The End of Oak Street.” She will appear in the erotic thriller film, “Verity,” which premieres in theaters on October 2, 2026.
Hathaway will also produce and star in a film adaptation of Caro Claire Burke’s best-selling novel, “Yesteryear.” The story follows a social media influencer who suddenly appears in the 1800s. The “Interstellar” actress spoke about this upcoming project for the first time at “The End of Oak Street” premiere:
“That’s been a really fun discovery because I read the draft two years ago and I knew the intense feeling that I had for it, so it’s been really fun watching people discover it. I have friends writing me; they’re like, ‘What, how?”
“One of my friends wrote me and said, ‘I can’t remember the last time that I immediately re-read a book,'” Hathaway added. “People are just loving it, and I couldn’t be happier for Caro; what a triumph for her. And now we just have to do the movie justice.”
All in all, fans will have plenty of opportunities to see Anne Hathaway on the big screen this year. They can see her next in “The End of Oak Street,” which hits theaters on August 14.
