Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest Seen for First Time Since Friend Catherine O’Hara Passed

Star couple Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest have been seen in public for the first time since their good friend Catherine O’Hara passed away.

In photographs obtained by The Daily Mail, actress, producer, and author, Curtis, 67, and actor, comedian, screenwriter, and director Guest, 77, wore dark clothing and looked decidedly solemn as they arrived at their adult daughter’s Los Angeles home on Saturday afternoon.

The couple poignantly took a moment to admire a flower they had brought with them, before taking some time out to be with their family for the weekend amid the shocking news.

Since the passing of O’Hara, 71, on Friday, January 30, it’s been revealed that she and her husband, production designer Bo Welch, 74, had been purposely keeping their friends “in the dark” about the mystery illness that ultimately cut her life short.

Per Variety, Christopher Guest had earlier released a statement via his publicist acknowledging the passing of Catherine O’Hara and expressing his grief about it.

Guest said, “I am devastated. We have lost one of the comic giants of our age. I send my love to her family.”

O’Hara’s long-time friends Guest and Jamie Lee Curtis are far from the only high-profile pals and co-stars to share tributes to the great comedic actor.

The likes of Macaulay Culkin, Ryan Reynolds, Andy Cohen, Seth Rogen, Brooke Shields, Pedro Pascal, and Steve Martin and Martin Short are just some of the individuals to show their love to the star.

Canadian-American actress, comedian, and screenwriter O’Hara — whose official cause of death still hasn’t been publicly confirmed — is famous for starring in the likes of 1988’s “Beetlejuice” and its 2024 sequel, 1990’s “Home Alone” and its 1992 sequel, and the CBC sitcom “Schitt’s Creek.”

In addition to Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest being long-time friends of Catherine O’Hara’s, the latter had collaborated with the actress on multiple occasions.

Guest (per IMDb) and O’Hara (per IMDb) both appeared in the mockumentary movies “Waiting for Guffman” (1996), “Best in Show” (2000), “A Mighty Wind” (2003), and the comedy movie “For Your Consideration” (2006) — all of which the former also directed.

O’Hara was clearly a hugely beloved personality in Hollywood, amongst her peers, and amongst those closest to her. We’re sure more tributes will pour in throughout the coming days, as will more details about her tragic passing.

May the great, talented, funny, and beautiful Catherine O’Hara rest in eternal peace.
