Dorinda Medley is already giving fans a reason to tune into “The Golden Life.”
Speaking on her SiriusXM show “Reality Checked,” which she co-hosts with Kiki Monique, the former “Real Housewives of New York” star shared an early glimpse into filming. The takeaway is simple. This show is moving fast, the energy is high, and nothing stays predictable for long.
Filming has been centered around the Palm Beach International Boat Show, with the cast moving from yacht to yacht. It sounds glamorous. It also sounds relentless.
Dorinda Medley Describes the Reality of Filming ‘Golden Life’
Medley explained that even a break in filming can feel like part of the drama.
“I usually have to work on Fridays, but for some reason, I don’t know if it’s good news or bad news, I’m not in any scenes tomorrow,” she said. “I’m having that reality fear thing come over because you’re like, ‘Wait, what?’”
That uncertainty quickly turns into second guessing.
“You kind of look at your schedule and you’re like, ‘Oh my god, I’ve got Friday off.’ And then you’re like, ‘Wait a second. Does that mean I’m missing out? Are they talking about me?’”
It is the kind of mindset that longtime viewers recognize. Even when the cameras are off, the story keeps moving.
The Moment That Hints at What’s Coming
Medley also shared one moment that says a lot about the pace of filming.
“I was like, ‘I’m done.’ And I walked off the boat. I walked out, took my mic off, and walked off scene,” she said.
GettyThe comment lands less like a dramatic exit and more like a snapshot of how quickly things can escalate when a group is constantly on the move.
She added that the setting itself started to wear on her.
“Part of it was I couldn’t take another yacht. I mean, at first I was like, ‘Oh my god, a yacht. It’s so beautiful.’ Second time I was like, ‘Oh my god, we’re going on a yacht again.’ That’s the third time I was like, ‘Is it on a yacht again?’”
Why This Is Exactly What Fans Want
Medley did not give away major storylines. She did not need to.
What she revealed instead is tone. Fast schedules. Big personalities. Moments that shift quickly from funny to overwhelming and back again.
That has always been the formula.
For fans who have been waiting to see her back in this kind of environment, the early signs point to a series that understands exactly what works.
If this is the energy during filming, “The Golden Life” is not going to ease its way in.
