“The Real Housewives” star Porsha Williams has admitted that she would “love” to reunite with her former fiancé. Yet, the reality television personality also explained that she knows it would be a bad idea to get back together with Dennis McKinley despite the fact that they remain on good terms and are working together to co-parent their daughter.
In the latest episode of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams was asked about her relationship with her ex-fiancé McKinley and explained that she still has feelings for him but knows that the relationship would ultimately never work. The pair share seven-year-old daughter Pilar Jhena McKinley together.
Explaining exactly why she would never get back with McKinley despite considering the idea, Williams said that she didn’t want to create a harmful environment for her daughter.

During episode 11 of the 17th season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams opened up about her thoughts on her relationship with McKinley and why they won’t get back together. As reported by Bravo’s Daily Dish, Williams outlined that ideally she and McKinley would be together but she doesn’t want to create an unhappy upbringing for Pilar.
“In a perfect world, [I’d] love to be back with Dennis,” Porsha admitted. “There is just another side to us that happens when we’re together that I just don’t like.”
She added, “I don’t ever want to be arguing in front of Pilar. I have never introduced her to a toxic household at all.”
Despite putting the brakes on any possible romantic reunion between the pair, Williams was also quick to praise McKinley for being there for their daughter and being a responsible co-parent. She describes him as “a really good father” and she couldn’t ask for anything more from him in that respect, even if they’ve ultimately decided they’re better off apart.
This is a position Williams has been consistent with for some time. When asked in March 2025 whether she might reconsider their relationship, she revealed that it is something she has thought about but decided that a reunion simply wasn’t “in the stars.”
The two do continue to jointly support their daughter, especially for important occasions. For example, the pair reunited more recently to celebrate Pilar’s first day of second grade. Williams shared a series of photographs online that included much of her family, including McKinley.
Porsha Williams Has Had Mixed Success With Her Recent Relationships
Williams married Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Simon Guobadia in 2022. The couple subsequently separated in 2024, with Williams filing for divorce in February 2024. Her divorce settlement was finalized this summer, which saw Williams keep her Atlanta home and also receive ownership of a Rolls-Royce Ghost. Court documents also show a $1,568,181.63 payment.
During the 17th season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams was dating several individuals but has seemingly settled on a Patrice “Sway” McKinney. In the three-part reunion for the season, Williams introduced Sway as her girlfriend.
