Change is coming to Salem. Conner Floyd has been cast as the new Chad DiMera on “Days of Our Lives,” taking over the fan-favorite role from Billy Flynn.
As viewers get ready to see a new face in the role, here are five fast facts to know about the actor stepping into Chad’s shoes.
1. Conner Floyd Is Coming to Salem on April 21, 2026
Salem is getting a new Chad DiMera on Tuesday, April 21. Conner Floyd takes the role over from Billy Flynn, who played Chad from 2014 to 2026.
Due to DOOL’s 10-month advanced production schedule, Floyd actually began filming for the role in June 2025.
2. Conner Floyd Previously Starred on ‘The Young and the Restless’
Floyd’s new role as Chad DiMera won’t be the actor’s first step into the daytime world. He previously starred as Chance Chancellor on “Y&R” from 2021 to 2025. Interestingly, this is where Floyd’s path crossed with Billy Flynn, who previously played Chad DiMera.
After Flynn had wrapped filming for “DOOL,” he joined “Y&R” as Cane Ashby. As a result, there was a slight overlap with both Floyd and Flynn filming for “The Young and the Restless.”
Floyd later revealed that Flynn helped him prepare for his new role, offering insight into DOOL’s filming schedule, on-set dynamics, and even who to connect with behind the scenes.
3. Conner Floyd Is a Texan
DOOL’s new Chad DiMera is a Texan. Conner Floyd was born in Austin, Texas, on October 20, 1992. He attended college in Oklahoma before moving out to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
4. Conner Floyd Played College Football Before Acting
Floyd attended the University of Tulsa, where he played wide receiver and punt returner for the Golden Hurricane. Impressively, Floyd was a three-year letter winner on the school’s football team.
5. Conner Floyd Recently Got Married in March 2026
Conner Floyd is a married man, having tied the knot with his bride, Carly Frei, on March 21, 2026. The couple exchanged vows at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, California. Floyd and Frei were together for five years before getting married.
Floyd told People, “The past five years that we have been together have truly been the best five years of our lives — and to think that we get to spend a lifetime together from this moment on just makes both of us so excited for what the future has to offer.”
