The duo shared a number of scenes during their early days on “GH,” as Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash) was in a romantic relationship with Lulu Spencer (Julie Marie Berman), who was besties with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). However, Maxie and Johnny had their own romantic tension later on.

    2. Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash Were Friends for 7 Years Before Dating

While there might have been some onscreen chemistry between Barash and Storms, the duo remained friends for seven years before they began dating.

Barash was even linked to another soap star, Natalie Hall, before dating Storms. Hall portrayed Colby Chandler on “All My Children” from 2009 to 2011. Barash and Hall started dating in 2010, and Barash even popped the question in December 2011. However, the couple later ended their romantic relationship in 2012.

On a 2022 podcast episode of “State of Mind” with her co-star, Maurice Benard, Storms discussed the early days of her relationship with Barash. While talking with Benard, Storms said, “You know this, Brandon and I were friends for seven years before we got together.”

She added, “We have a history with each other of being friends, and good friends, like he would crash at my house in my guest room if we would go out and do karaoke.”

To that, Benard questioned, “And you were just friends?” To which Storms responded, “It was completely platonic, never hooked up, nothing.”

Benard then asked if she ever thought there would be something deeper between them. Storms shared, “I always thought he was cute, yeah, but it was never… but then we kind of had a point in both of our lives where it just worked out.”

Storms and Barash kept their relationship private until after they tied the knot. “General Hospital” fans didn’t even know the duo was dating until August 2013, when the couple revealed that they had secretly gotten married in June.

The couple’s “GH” co-stars found out that the pair were dating at their 2012 work Christmas party. Storms previously told Soap Opera Digest, “We joke now that the Christmas party that we had in December was our coming out party because nobody knew that we were together and we showed up there together.”
