‘The Voice’ Mega Mentors Revealed for Season 28 Knockouts Along With New ‘Mic Drop’ Challenge

The Mega Mentors are coming! With one week left of Battles on season 28 of “The Voice,” the Knockouts are right around the corner. On October 20, 2025, coaches Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, and Niall Horan narrowed their teams down further during the third night of dazzling duets between their talented artists.

Once the coaches complete their teams with a final night of Battles on the October 27 episode, going from 12 to six artists each, the show will move on to the Knockouts. According to NBC Insider, those challenges will come with an interesting twist this season and guidance from two celebrity Mega Mentors — Zac Brown and The Eagles’ Joe Walsh.

When the Knockouts kick off on November 3, Walsh will work with the remaining members of Team Reba and Team Niall, while Brown will assist Team Snoop and Team Bublé, per NBC.

Brown, who leads Zac Brown Band, is a three-time Grammy winner and no stranger to at least one of “The Voice” coaches he’s working with. In August, he and Snoop released a country/hip-hop song, “Let It Run.”

Walsh, meanwhile, is lead guitarist for the legendary group The Eagles, and wrote 1970s classics like “Walk Away” and “Life in the Fast Lane.” Horan will likely be beside himself with joy, given that he’s such a huge fan of The Eagles. In 2023, he told Spout that his first concert was seeing the classic rock band because “my dad was obsessed with The Eagles when he was younger, and when I was like four, they came to Ireland and I went to the gig, and I remember it like it was yesterday.”

Season 28 Knockouts Will Also Feature New Mic Drop Challenge

Then, according to NBC Insider, the next five Mondays will be dedicated to the Knockouts, when artists get to choose their own songs as they go head-to-head against another member of their team. Coaches will choose one winner out of each pair, but in another big change for season 28, there are no Steals. In the end, each coach’s team will be narrowed down to four.

each coach will get to award a “Mic Drop” for one artist on their team who “truly impresses them.” Once each coach has chosen their “Mic Drop” recipient, viewers will vote on which of the four singers will get to perform during the Rose Parade on January 1, 2026.

After the Knockouts, there will be two Playoffs episodes and then it’s on to the live finale shows on December 15 and 16.
