‘Welcome to Plathville’ Star Explains Why She and Zac Moved to Colorado
The “Welcome to Plathville” star shared an Instagram Reel of her and her husband, Zac Wyse, hiking. On screen, Lydia placed the text, “My husband didnโt take me away from my family,” adding, “He brought me home.โ The next caption in the Reel read, “Iโm still pinching myself every day.” Lydiaโs closing caption was, “The mountains have always been calling, and now I get to call them home.”
The 22-year-old included a more lengthy caption explaining her thoughts to fans. She started out by sharing, “Yes, my family is home too. I talk to them every day and canโt wait for them to visit. But I always knew from a young age that I wasnโt going to stay there forever.”
The reality star continued, adding, “The mountains have always had my heart, and when Zac and I were engaged, I was planning on moving to Colorado. But he knew I wasnโt ready to move away from my family just yet. Especially my younger sisters.”
Lydia noted how supportive her husband was during the decision-making process, writing, “So, he moved to FL with me, and that was the right decision for a season. But when the timing was right, we gladly came back to Colorado, and I couldnโt be happier!”
Lydiaโs recent Instagram Reel appears to serve a few different purposes. Not only does it clear up why the couple relocated to Colorado earlier in 2026, but it also comes after the airing of Episode 10 of Season 8, where Kim calls a family meeting to address Zacโs recent behavior and the Plath familyโs concerns.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Viewers Watch Lydia Defend Zac During Family Meeting
As viewers witnessed, Kim Plath confronted her daughter, Lydia, about her and Zacโs judgmental behavior toward family members. According to the Plath siblings, while on a trip to visit their sister Moriah Plath in Montana, Zac and Lydia made several comments about the shows Moriah had on TV and the beverages she had in her home.
Kim asked Lydia, “Iโve heard that you and Zac have sat down people and explained to them that you didnโt like how they were living, that they werenโt Godly enough. Is that true?”
Lydia admitted it was as Kim listed several issues she heard were raised during the trip, including Moriah having alcohol in her house, inappropriate TV shows, and a “raunchy” card game that the Plath siblings said made Lydia and Zac uncomfortable.
While defending herself, Lydia shared, “I just wanted to bring it up to Moriah, like, be aware. You know, Amberโs a minor still.” During the family meeting, Isaac Plath also brought up his concern with Zac taking the three youngest Plath sisters, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy, aside and warning them not to take after Moriah.
During her sit-down confessional, Lydia also claimed that the shows Moriah had on during their stay featured more F-bombs than she would even hear during a week working at her restaurant job.
In reference to Moriahโs effort to get the siblings to play Cards Against Humanity, Lydia told the cameras, “I would never in a million years read out loud what it says on this card,” explaining that she and Zac did not feel comfortable.
She added, “It was just another instance of not feeling considered. We thought itโd be nice if there was less of it.”
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Fans React to Lydiaโs Post About Zac and Their Move
After the latest episode aired, highlighting Zac and Lydiaโs behavior toward Moriah Plath, many “Welcome to Plathville” fans jumped into Lydiaโs comment section to share their thoughts.
One fan wrote, “I disagree with how your family treated you at your wedding. However, the way Zac treats people is also wrong. Both can be true!”
Another chimed in, writing, “Zac is too judgmental.”
A third fan added, “Itโs sad to see the judgment in this episode. Curious why you believe they need to only consider your feelings/beliefs, but you donโt have to understand and accept that they donโt have the same feelings/beliefs towards it. You might be feeling misunderstood because you want everyone to live like you.”
While many fans voiced their concerns to Lydia, others were simply happy to see the reality star thriving in her new home.
One fan wrote, “Congratulations!! My husband and I moved to Colorado in 2019, and it was the best decision we have ever made! Truly, the mountains are home!”
Another added, “Thrilled for you. Colorado is my home state, and I love it! Welcome and enjoy!”
While fans remain divided over Zac and Lydia’s actions during the Montana trip, Lydia appears confident in the life she and her husband have built together. For now, the reality star is focused on her new home in Colorado and embracing the next chapter of their marriage.
