As “Landman” ramps up to begin production on Season 3, more actors are being added to the mega-hit Taylor Sheridan drama.
The latest star to be cast in the highly anticipated third season will be no stranger to viewers of that other Sheridan show, “Lioness,” with Michael Kelly officially joining the show.
A ‘Lioness’ Veteran
ParamountIn “Lioness, Kelly stars as Byron Westfield, deputy director for CIA operations, who oversees the agency’s Lioness program.
Other notable roles for Kelly have included ruthless chief of staff Doug Stamper in Netflix hit “House of Cards,” Mike November in Prime Video’s “Jack Ryan” series and gangster Johnny Viti in “The Penguin.”
In “Landman,” Kelly will be playing a new character, William Crockett.
According to the “Landman” character description (per The Hollywood Reporter), Crockett leads the largest oil management firm in the world, and is described as “a titan of industry and everything about him exudes efficiency and money.”
A Solid Future with ‘Landman’
ParamountWhen “Landman” finally does return with its third season, the core cast will all be returning.
That will include Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, Ali Larter as his ex-wife, Angela Norris, Jacob Lofland as their son, Cooper Norris, Sam Elliott as Tommy’s father, T.L., Demi Moore as Cami Miller, and “When Calls the Heart” alum Kayla Wallace as cutthroat attorney Rebecca Falcone.
Another character whose been confirmed to return is James Jordan as oilfield veteran Dale Bradley.
During a recent interview with Us Weekly, the actor insisted he wasn’t worried about his character being killed off.
“No, I would not be concerned [about my future on the show],” Jordan stated.
“I don’t know everything, but I would not be concerned,” he added. “Everybody’s very excited to get back to work. It’s going to be a great time. We’re pumped to get back to the Fort Worth area and shoot Season 3 … I’ve got the Season 3 script. It was sent to me right in this phone. I will guard it with my life. But I snuck a quick peek. I really have to read it later, but it’s going to be amazing.”
Season 3 Will Be ‘Fantastic’
ParamountPreviously, Us Weekly spoke with “Landman” star Billy Bob Thornton, who was also confident in his character’s future with rthe show.
“I think Taylor is going to let me hang around,” Thornton said.
“It’s going to be fantastic,” Thornton said of the new season. “Taylor is writing as we speak. It’s going to be 10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes — just like Season 1 and Season 2 have been. Billy Bob and everybody, we’re all ready to get back to work.”
He added: “I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore. So it’s going to be a great ride. We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year. Then we should have it out … I don’t know when. It’s up to the powers that be, but we’re very excited to get started on that.”
