There are some wild families on American TV, but none as wild as the Gallaghers. You’re running out of time to binge-watch their antics on Netflix, as all 11 seasons of “Shameless” are set to depart.
As of right now, the exit isn’t fully confirmed. What’s on Netflix states that some shows are showing that they’re leaving in certain windows, but the streaming giant hasn’t fully confirmed them just yet. This gives the streamer time to create new deals with studios, and that could happen with “Shameless.” It’s happened recently with the likes of “The Walking Dead” franchise and “Seinfeld.”
When Will ‘Shameless’ Leave Netflix?
GettyOf course, “Gilmore Girls” fans were sure that the streamer would pull out all the stops to keep the fast-talking dramedy, but it didn’t happen. On June 30, the seven-season show left Netflix, and the following day it found a new life on Prime Video. That means we have to play it safe with “Shameless” and attempt to get through all 134 episodes in a little more than a month.
The last day to stream all 11 seasons of “Shameless” is Oct. 10, 2026, as the show is set to depart on Oct. 11. The exit usually happens at midnight PT on the day listed.
It’s not the only major exit in October 2026. “Gossip Girl” and “Dawson’s Creek” are among the major releases departing the streaming giant, which has started to license more third-party content in recent years to make the most of its financial investments.
Fans React to Netflix Losing More Older Content
GettyThis isn’t the first warning fans have had about “Shameless” leaving the streamer. In 2025, Netflix made it clear that various territories would have to look for a new home to check out the Gallagher family’s antics. It all started with Netflix Canada in the fall of 2025, and various locations have lost it since. Now it’s the United States’ turn.
Fans have taken to Reddit to react to the decision, making it clear that it’s why physical media is still so important. The good thing about the Showtime series is that all seasons were released on DVD, offering deleted scenes and other bonus features to make each one intriguing enough to buy. Yet, with the streaming world, physical sales are declining, and many are calling for people to “wake up.”
One user said: “Wow this is WHY physical matters. Wake up people. A father of a son made a similar post he wanted to watch the Jurassic Park movies, but couldn’t. It wasn’t streaming anywhere and his son was sad. He bought them on Blu Ray and had a movie night with his son! Physical creates memories. Not digital but people get so crazy that we create moments and they don’t 😆”
People quickly commented on the nostalgia of going to the video store, with physical media helping to create core memories with parents.
Another user shared that they were glad that “Shameless” Seasons 10 and 11 were eventually released on Blu-Ray, and that sparked more comments about owning the DVDs. One user shared that they wished they could, adding, “Damn, I really wish I had these. Need to see if I can find any good deals on these.”
To note this is only the U.S. version of “Shameless.” There is a UK version of the series out there, which was the original version, much like how “The Office” was first in the UK and then adapted for the U.S. market. All 11 seasons of the UK version are available to stream on Hulu.
