While fans have watched Andrew Walker find romance onscreen thanks to his many Hallmark movies, the star is also living a real-life happily-ever-after with his wife, Cassandra Troy. Now, she has opened up about how they first met and fell in love, and as you might have hoped, the story is incredibly sweet!
Andrew and Troy Quickly Fell In Love After She Rejected Him
Walker and Troy recently sat down together in a video that the actor shared on Instagram, which saw him marking Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday by answering 25 questions that had been submitted by fans. Or, at least, that was the plan. He actually ended up answering 26 questions due to the fact that an extra bonus query popped up. As Troy acted as the interviewer, she told her husband, “Number 26. Oh, how did you and Cass meet?”
In response, Walker didn’t offer an answer, but instead threw things back to his wife, saying, “Everyone hears it from me. Cassandra, how did we meet?”
Although Troy initially hestitated — saying, “I was only supposed to be asking questions” — she ended up giving in, telling those who were watching, “We met in Montreal at a gym that I worked part-time at. His dad was a member, and he would come in when he was visiting his parents. He lived in LA, I was in Montreal. And he, uh, asked me out at all three of my part-time jobs.”
At that point, Walker chimed in, saying, “Perseverance, kids.”
Troy continued by recalling, “I finally caved, and we ended up hanging out, and within five days of us hanging out… Can I say this?”
After Walker gave his approval, she added, “He told me that he loved me.”
Walker clarified, “Well, I technically said, I love the person you are. … I loved her.”
Troy also opened up about the beginning of her relationship with Walker during a June 2021 episode of “The Creative Couples Podcast.” She explained that she had initially turned him down a number of times when he asked her out because she wasn’t interested in getting involved in a long-distance relationship.
However, after “hit[ting] it off” during a night out with friends, she recalled, “We hung out two days after that, and on day five, we went on a hiking trip to Mont-Tremblant together. We both said we loved each other after five days, and that was 18 years ago. … When we met and fell in love so quickly…”
What Other Questions Did Andrew Answer?
HallmarkDuring Walker’s Q&A with Troy, he was asked plenty of other questions ranging from aspects of his personal life to details about his career. For instance, he was asked about what kind of project would he be interested in doing, and revealed that he wants to star in a kind of movie that Hallmark isn’t exactly known for, but that fans would definitely want to see.
That’s not to mention the fact that he made a major announcement about the future of “Curious Caterer Mysteries” that is too exciting to miss!
Walker also named the Hallmark actresses he hopes to work with next and opened up about the moment with Nikki DeLoach he’ll never forget (even though it was kind of icky), while also revealing how the “Wise Men” dance was invented, saying, “It was really funny how we got there.”
