The final season of “The Way Home” is moving right along and keeping fans on the edge of their seats. In a new sneak peek for Season 4 Episode 3 of the hit Hallmark show, Elliot (Evan Williams) drops quite a bomb on Kat (Chyler Leigh).
Elliot Makes a Bold Choice In ‘The Way Home’ Sneak Peek
In the footage, Elliot and Kat are discussing his mother, Tessa, leaving him. Elliot’s world has been rocked, learning not only that his mother left him at the pond but also that the stories his father, Vic (James Gallanders), told him about his mother may not be the whole truth.
After Kat traveled back to 1925, where she was certain she would find Tessa and get more answers for Elliot, he begins to wonder what more they could do. Elliot seems okay with Dell’s (Andie MacDowell) version of what happened to his mother, especially since Dell’s version of events lines up with Vic’s.
“Even if my mom time-traveled at some point. She came back, and she died. End of story,” Elliot declares to Kat as they walk through the woods.
Kat reminds him of the clock in the wall and 65 in 25, but even that doesn’t sway Elliot. He feels like the clock wasn’t meant for them and that Fern (Jill Frappier) was simply senile back in the 1970s. When Kat begins to question him, Elliot makes a bold statement.
“Maybe I don’t want definitive answers. All my life, I have built up this idea of my mom, and the more I find out about the real her, the more I want to cling to the make-believe version. Because I am not sure I can handle having two terrible parents,” he shares in a vulnerable moment with Kat.
It seems his words have an impact for now, because Kat agrees not to talk about the past. In a very sweet and touching moment, Kat makes it clear that all they need is each other.
Fans React to Elliot’s Decision
The comments section of the Instagram post sharing the clip was filled with fan comments. One fan requested that the season needs to have 20 episodes to answer all the questions. Sadly, that is not happening because the series finale has already been shot, and only 10 episodes are in the final season of “The Way Home”.
A different fan has thoughts on the situation with Elliot’s mom, saying, “I am starting to think Elliot’s mom was never from the times when Elliot was born – like she got pregnant with him time traveling in another era!” Another fan felt really sorry for Elliot having to go through this with his mom, given that Vic isn’t the greatest father.
One fan pointed out that Elliot needs to use his brain writing, “I also think it’s funny that Elliot thinks it takes one trip to find his mom in 1920s. He needs to put his scientist hat on. 😁”
Many fans still can’t get over the fact that this is the last season of “The Way Home,” and at this point, there are more questions than answers.
“The Way Home” airs Sundays at 9/8c on Hallmark and streams the next day on Hallmark+.
