HGTV has expanded its 2026-2027 show lineup with the new series “Roast My Rental” hosted by comedian Leslie Jones.
Warner Bros. Discovery, owner and distributor of HGTV, announced in a press release on Wednesday, May 13, that the first season of “Roast My Rental” will premiere in July.
The Home & Garden network shared the exciting news on their Instagram with a brief description of the new, unscripted series. According to HGTV, “Roast My Rental” will feature Jones as she playfully pokes fun at the world’s worst short-term rentals before attempting to flip them within 72 hours.
Jones, who will be new to the network, will work alongside HGTV’s home renovation expert Jasmine Roth, who formerly hosted “Help! I Wrecked My House” before the series was canceled after season 5 in 2025.
HGTV Announces New Show ‘Roast My Rental’
“Leslie Jones is calling out the worst rental properties on the Internet! In Roast My Rental, the comedian/design enthusiast/ truth-teller goes in on the country’s worst short-term rentals-think viral photos of gross amenities and misleading listings-then attempts to flip them in 72 hours alongside reno expert Jasmine Roth!” HGTV’s Instagram caption reads.
“Roast My Rental” is among nearly 100 new cable series under Warner Bros. Discovery that will premiere their first-ever seasons within the next year.
Additional time slots filled on the HGTV network for the 2026-2027 season include new shows “Battle on the Beach,” “House Shock,” “Extreme Buyers Club,” “A Very Haunted Renovation,” the rebooted ambush-style home renovation series “Crashers,” and renewed seasons of “Love It or List It,” “Scariest House in America,” among others.
Warner Bros. Discovery to Bring 98 New Shows to Cable Programming
GettyChanning Dungey, Chairman and CEO of the Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks, said in the company’s press release that their intention is to continue to produce “innovative and genre-defining programming” that fans can connect to for years to come.
“Our brands are unstoppable, delivering the most talked about and must-watch unscripted series on TV today. We have the best creative team in the business and will continue to produce innovative, genre-defining programming that super serves our fans,” Dungey stated.
Jones isn’t the only new celebrity to host an all-new series under Warner Bros. Discovery, either. NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal will host the true-crime docuseries “Game Day Murders” for Investigative Discovery with co-host and veteran sports broadcaster Lindsay Czarniak. “White Chicks” actor Terry Crews will host “100 Cooks” for the Food Network. “The Hangover” actor Ken Jeong will host an exciting special for Shark Week, “KPop Shark Heroes,” with co-host and HUNTR/X K-pop singer Rei Ami.
According to the press release from Warner Bros. Discovery, which claims five of the top 10 cable networks, spanning across 208 million average monthly viewers in the first quarter of 2026, has “primed this year’s programming pipeline” with not only 98 new series but also 127 fan-favorite, returning shows on networks such as Discovery Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Investigation Discovery, TBS, TNT, TLC, Magnolia Network, Adult Swim, OWN, and others.
HGTV’s “Roast My Rental” will premiere on Friday, July 24, at 9:30 PM EST.
