Awesome New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Unveiled by Marvel Studios at D23 — ‘Hell Answers to Me’

Rather excitingly, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, a new trailer for the upcoming blockbuser “Avengers: Doomsday” was released.

“Avengers: Doomsday” will be the 39th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began 18 years ago in 2008 with the iconic “Iron Man.”

Marvel Studios released its first trailer for the hugely anticipated film back in July, ahead of San Diego Comic Con. However, with the movie’s Friday, December 18 release fast approaching, we have a second trailer with titillating new footage.

Suffice it to say that this one has Marvel fans’ mouths watering with excitement and anticipation.

The Latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Is Fantastic

In the first trailer, we got our first real look at Robert Downey, Jr.’s Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. He looked like quite the threat, stopping the powerful Stormbreaker (belonging to Chris Hemsworth’s Thor) with just his fingers. However, in the new trailer, he looks and sounds even more powerful.

The trailer begins with Doom sat on a throne (perhaps in Latveria, perhaps at the end of time, per the “Loki” television series) and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm narrating about him.

She says, “Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different. He used to be kind, he used to be caring. And then, everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realise that he was broken.”

While that’s happening, footage is shown of characters from different universes — including Hemsworth’s Thor and Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto — looking extremely sad and solemn.

A destroyed landscape is then shown, as Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards asks, “Victor, did you do this?”

Further footage of heroes is shown — many of them with their loved ones (such as Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers with his baby and Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm with young Franklin Richards) — as RDJ’s Doom says, “All of you have lived stolen lives. But now you must give them back?”

Pascal’s Richards then screams, “Answer me, Victor! Did you do this?”

Thor then approaches Doom and says, “I swear, you will beg for a hell long before I grant it,” before the already-seen footage of Doom easily blocking Stormbreaker is shown. Doom then repels the weapon, casually blasts Thor away and chillingly says, “Hell answers to me.”

Doom then places his hand on the ground and releases a wave of green energy that brings a horde of defeated giant robots — likely Sentinels from the “X-Men” movie universe” — back to life to serve him. He then says, “For I am Doom.”

The “Avengers: Doomsday” title then appears and a countdown to December 18 begins.

This trailer really fleshed out the Doctor Doom character in just a few words and actions. It sent Marvel fans into a frenzy.

Some of Marvel Studios’ recent projects have received mixed reviews. That has, undeniably, left some fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe feeling a little downbeat about the franchise. However, this trailer appears to be generating universal excitement.

When the trailer hit Marvel Studios’ Instagram account, one Marvel fan commented, “Marvel sudeenly cooking after a few years.”

Another fan wrote, “One trailer and suddenly everyone remembers why we love Marvel.”

Somebody else said, “The fact they respected Doom’s past being heavily linked to the fantastic four is unmatched!”

“Marvel dropping straight heat at 12 o’clock at night😂,” wrote another individual.

Meanwhile, one Instagram user noted, “it really doesnt sound like RDJ as Doom… what an actor.”

Finally, one person commented, “”Hell answers to me…. for I am Doom ” this line is insane and gives me chills.”

Per IMDb, the plot of “Avengers: Doomsday” is as follows: “Heroes from three different worlds must unite when they’re thrust together to confront a catastrophic danger that could destroy everything they know.”

The movie’s huge cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Sir Ian McKellen, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Sir Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena, and Tenoch Huerta Mejía.

We now have just over four months to wait for “Avengers: Doomsday” and we’re incredibly excited for it.
