Andy Cohen Playfully Breaks His Silence to Defend ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ After Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Comments

Andy Cohen has broken his silence and playfully snarked back nearly a week after Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed that despite being a fan, the latest season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” hasn’t held her attention.

After the “Cruel Intentions” star shared her thoughts during a Sirius XM interview on the “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast, Cohen said on his own show, “Andy Cohen Live,” “Don’t bring someone into my studio to trash my show,” before adding, “She wrong, by the way.”

What Did Sarah Michelle Say About ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’?

The lighthearted battle began when Gellar said during her podcast appearance when asked whether she’s been enjoying season 15 of the show, “No! In fact, I think it’s boring.” She went on to add that her qualms are not with the cast, saying, “I mean, I like the cast, like I love Rachel. I think Rachel’s a great addition. I love Boz. I think it’s a great – I live for Kathy and Jen. I want a spinoff. I want a Jen Tilly/Kathy Hilton spinoff.”

She explained her boredom comes from the fact she feels the season has been slow, saying, “It’s just picking up now.”

Gellar also shared her thoughts on newbie Amanda Frances. “I don’t think she’s polarizing, I just don’t think anyone enjoys her,” the 48-year-old bluntly remarked. She made sure to let it be known her critique wasn’t personal, saying, “I want to clarify, like I’m sure she’s a very lovely person. If you choose to go on this show, then you have to be ready to open yourself up and be honest. And I feel like she’s just not – I feel like she missed that memo.”

Some Fans Jumped to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Defense After Andy’s Response

On a Page Six Facebook post about Cohen’s reaction to Gellar’s constructive criticisms, a lot of fans took Gellar’s side and remarked that they appreciated hearing her thoughts. One humorously wrote, “Never clap back a vampire slayer who fought a god and won,” referencing Gellar’s iconic TV role.

Another weighed in, “SMG is right, this has been a boring season and RHOBH is my favorite in the franchise.”

Many fans of the franchise seem to feel the shows could use refreshing. On March 25, Kim Kardashian’s best friend Jonathan Cheban passionately pleaded for “RHONJ” to shake things up by adding “Mob Wives” star Drita D’Avanzo.

  1. Geller should keep her snarky and negative comments to herself. It takes on a life of its own with the fans who love that show. Say something nice or not at all. She came with an agenda.
