Mykelti Brown Padron is one of the most outspoken of Kody Brown’s 18 children. She is no stranger to the spotlight either, having appeared on TLC’s “Sister Wives” since she was 14. Now, Kody and Christine Brown Woolley’s second-oldest daughter and her husband, Tony Padron, have built a large following on social media and also share insights into the Brown family on their Patreon channel.
In a recent YouTube live with Shelise Ann Sola, the host of the podcast “Cults to Consciousness,” the Padrons spilled even more insight on Mykelti’s famous family. In a lighthearted exchange, Tony actually opened up about the only time he remembers Mykelti’s father, Kody Brown, admitting he was wrong about something. Read on to discover what the reality star had to share.
Tony Padron and Mykelti Brown Wanted 4,000 Tacos at Their Wedding Reception
During the sit-down interview with Shelise Ann Sola on “Cults to Consciousness,” the host asked Tony and Mykelti to share something interesting with fans that they might not know about “Sister Wives.” Tony took the lead on the question, noting that the couple wanted 4,000 tacos served at their wedding reception.
Tony started out by saying, “We were trying to convince the parents, her parents, that we should serve 4,000 tacos at our wedding.”
He added, “And we were very confident in that, in that answer.”
Mykelti interjected, sharing, “And my parents were like, ‘This is preposterous. That is an absurd amount of food. There is no way. We don’t want that many leftovers. Absolutely no. Pick something else.'”
Tony then jokingly added, “I know. They’re like, ‘Your Mexican experience does not matter here.’ And I’m like, ‘What?'”
Mykelti clarified that the tacos were not oversized portions, noting, “They weren’t massive tacos. They were like the street tacos.”
Tony and Mykelti Reveal That They Ran Out of Food at Their Wedding Reception
According to the couple, they eventually compromised with her parents and settled on serving 3,000 tacos instead of 4,000. However, the lower number did not end up being enough, as the couple explained that they ran out of tacos at their wedding reception.
Mykelti shared, “We like ran out of food, and there were still a ton of people who hadn’t had anything. I only had one taco personally.” The “Sister Wives” star also noted that they had five different cakes, too, but that they ran out of cake and desserts, as well.
Tony added, “Yeah. We actually went to McDonald’s after our wedding on our way home because we were starving.”
Tony Padron Recalls the Only Time Kody Brown Admitted He Was Wrong
While the taco story itself may already be familiar to longtime fans of “Sister Wives,” Tony shared one detail that viewers may not have heard before.
After getting through the taco story and how they ran out of food at the reception, Tony comically revealed, “But to your dad’s credit, he did come back at some point in our life and say, ‘You know what? We’ll give you that one. You were right.’ So we took a W on that one.”
Sola then asked, “So what part was not broadcast on the TV? Like what part do people already know, and what part is new information?”
Tony answered, saying, “Oh, Kody admitting that he was wrong!” The response earned a laugh from both his wife and the host.
The lighthearted exchange not only revisited a memorable wedding mishap but also highlighted what Tony described as a rare moment of accountability from Kody Brown, something longtime fans of “Sister Wives” have seen often over the years.
