The CW is responsible for some of the most beloved shows of the modern era, including long-running options like “Supernatural” and “The Flash.” However, as the network hopes to become more profitable, three fan-favorite series aren’t returning, including “All-American,” which is ending rather than being canceled.
The CW’s ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’ Is Set To End
The CW premiered comedy-drama “Good Cop/Bad Cop” in February 2025. Like most CW shows, it didn’t draw a massive audience but still managed to gain a loyal fanbase. However, it received critical acclaim and currently holds an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. Its audience score is also at 91% positive.
However, one of the show’s stars, Luke Cook, announced in February 2026 that The CW had opted not to greenlight a second season. He said in a TikTok video, “Sad to let you know this, but we will not be doing a Season 2 of Good Cop/Bad Cop. I loved making that show, I loved making friends with everybody on that cast and crew, and John, who wrote the show. They’re all my great friends, so I’m sad we won’t get to do it again. But thank you to everyone who watched the show, like thank you.”
He continued, “People who were like, ‘Oh, there’s Luke, I’m going to watch him in that show.’ It’s very kind, and I’m glad you loved it. Everyone wrote to me and said they loved it, and I’m so glad that you did. I’m sorry that it didn’t work out and we won’t be doing more of it. But it’s a tough business. Hollywood has the ability to make your dreams come true and also break your heart. Onwards and upwards. Thanks for the support.”
‘All American’ Is Ending After 8 Seasons
GettyThe CW debuted the sports drama series “All American” in 2018, with the show quickly becoming a sensation. Several years later, in June 2025, the network announced that the then-upcoming eighth season would be the last, according to PEOPLE.
The series’ executive producer, Nkechi Okoro Carroll, opened up about the decision to end the show and reflected on its legacy. She said, “How do I condense into just a few words what would be the longest love letter to this show, the fans, the cast, crew, staff, and producers. My heart is so filled with love and gratitude for everyone who helped bring All American to life and kept it going for its historic run. It is so hard to say goodbye to the thing that you love, but we are so excited we get to do it in the way we envisioned with this final season.”
Carroll also thanked The CW, Warner Bros. Discovery, and the production company behind the show, Berlanti Productions. She called the entities “a supportive part of the ‘All American’ huddle since day one.”
She added, in her statement, “Thank you to our OG and new generation cast members, our writers, crew, and full staff for raising the bar every episode.”
The final season premiered on July 13 and will end on September 28.
‘Kids Ruin Everything’ Was Canceled in 2025
Canadian comedy series “Kids Ruin Everything” premiered on The CW in July 2023, roughly one year after its home country premiere. The network then aired four seasons of the show, with the finale airing in July 2025. According to TV Series Finale, the show’s cancellation was announced in February 2025.
