Allie Eklund shares what she thought when she first heard the rumor about her boyfriend, Steven McBee Jr., and his sister-in-law, Kacie Adkison, that created new tension on “The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys.”
During season 3 of the Bravo hit, Steven, 33, learned that his sister-in-law, Alli McBee, who is married to his brother Jesse McBee, allegedly questioned whether he was spending too much time with Kacie, who is now married to his brother Cole McBee.
Steven strongly denied that anything inappropriate had ever happened between them. Now, Allie, 29, is explaining why the allegation caught her attention when she first heard about it.
“It wasn’t the first. But that one was really confusing to me,” Allie told Decider. “It’s not my place to speak on what that rumor was, but it’s still, it’s still pretty shocking what was said, and I don’t see Alli as a dramatic person.”
Allie added that she heard about the rumor directly.
“I was called directly about the rumor and I, Alli doesn’t just pull things out of her (expletive) like you saw me say on the episode. I’ll say that,” she said.
Allie Eklund Says the Steven McBee Jr. Rumor Is Still ‘Pretty Confusing’
Allie found herself caught in the middle of the family drama when she was asked to help mediate.
She admitted she didn’t immediately know what to make of the allegations.
“That was my genuine reaction,” she told Decider. “I was learning about everything going on in real time, just like the audience was, and to this day, that rumor’s still pretty confusing to me, and it’s pretty layered, too.”
Steven addressed the speculation directly during “The McBee Dynasty,” insisting there had never been anything inappropriate between him and Kacie.
“There is absolutely not one single thing that would be inappropriate between Kacie and I,” Steven said on the show. “Never has been, never will be. And now, this makes it (expletive) weird.”
Allie agreed that the situation had become uncomfortable, although she challenged Steven over his decision to no longer speak privately with Kacie without Cole present.
“The fact that you can’t have a conversation with your sister-in-law face to face, and you’re gonna be business partners with her, that’s (expletive) weird, I’m just gonna be honest,” she told him. “That’s weird without the context, and the context is even (expletive) weirder.”
Steven McBee Jr. Reveals Where He Stands With Alli McBee Today
Steven has also spoken about what he believes prompted Alli to make the comment in the first place.
In a July interview with Bravo Insider, Steven said he believed the situation stemmed partly from what was happening elsewhere in the family at the time.
“From Steven’s perspective, Alli’s comment about him and Kacie “came out of a place of hurt and a little bit of jealousy.”
“I do spend more time with Cole and Kacie,” Steven acknowledged, explaining that they live on the McBee family farm.
He said Alli may have noticed how frequently he spent time with Cole, Kacie and their daughter, Blair.
“Alli’s seeing me post Blair and Kacie on social media, or she’s seeing how much time I spend with them. And there’s a little bit of hurt there,” Steven explained.
Steven also pointed to difficulties in Alli and Jesse’s marriage at the time.
“Obviously, her and Jesse were not in the best place from a marriage standpoint, so that contributes to it,” he said. “There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that added to why she felt that way and why she said that.”
Despite how tense the situation became, Steven said his relationship with Alli has recovered.
“We are completely good at this point,” he told Bravo Insider. “There is no animosity whatsoever.”
