Hallmark actress and executive producer Tamera Mowry-Housley, 47, revealed that doctors recently identified a liver lesion after she underwent a full-body scan.
Despite the unexpected — and daunting — findings, Mowry-Housley shared her hopeful outlook to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 12.
While enjoying an apple with almond butter, the Hallmark Mystery actress explained that her liver lesion was detected by the newly emerging technology and MRI scanner from Prenuvo. By using AI and advanced magnetic resonance imaging, the progressive scanner, according to Prevuno’s official website, offers “advanced protocols, high-resolution capture, and carefully tuned contrast techniques, our scans are designed to reveal detail with exceptional consistency from head to toe. In practice, this can mean greater clarity, more uniform coverage, and improved visibility into subtle findings.”
As Mowry-Housley explained how the detection process worked, in her case, she opened up about how grateful she is to have found the lesion on her liver so she could manage it before it turned into something more significant.

“I went to Prenuvo to get some full-body scans, and I got my results. The coolest thing about Prenuvo is that if you’ve done a scan before, you can always have a follow-up scan — which is why I personally choose to get them. Because with my initial body scan . . . This is going to sound crazy, okay? But they found a liver lesion,” Mowry-Housley revealed.
“And of course, you know I have a winery — you know I drink wine. I was like, ‘What! Liver lesion? Oh my gosh!’ And I know sometimes it can be daunting to wanna get a whole body scan because of what they possibly could find,” she continued. “But I’m one of those people that always wanna make sure that I’m being cautious, right? Preventive, early care. That’s how I like to view it.”
“And when we found it initially, of course, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh do I drink too much? Oh my gosh! What is happening?’ I was a little nervous and we got the results back and the lesion is the same size. The coolest thing, too, is that you get to speak with a nurse or a radiologist who actually looks at your report, and you can ask them any questions you want. There’s no stupid question,” the former Disney star added.
Tamera Mowry-Housley’s Unexpected ‘Wake-Up Call’
Mowry-Housley ended her health update by sharing another “wake-up call” that specialists pointed out after finding her liver lesion. And, to her surprise, the additional — and unanticipated — results have already influenced her to make changes in her lifestyle.
“There was one result, you guys, that I was like, offended. I have early signs of tech neck. He said, ‘I don’t want you to be 50 and have a 67-year-old neck because that is the trajectory that you’re on right now.’ So, it’s not funny — but it was a wake-up call. And it’d be your own kids, it was Ariah that said, ‘Mom, I think you look at Instagram too much.’ And she was right,” Mowry-Housley shared.
“So, now, thank you, Prenuvo. I have definitely put a little timer on my Instagram and I listen to it now,” the Hallmark star added. “Anyways, but there are a lot of things that I actually got relief from doing a Prenuvo scan. I would highly recommend it.”
