Nancy Guthrie has been missing for 26 days after her alleged abduction from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Her disappearance was first reported on February 1. Nancy’s heartbroken family is desperate for her to return, and “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie made a new plea for information in an Instagram video posted on February 24.
Savannah Guthrie Gives Update on Mom Nancy Guthrie
In Savannah’s latest video, she spoke about her mother’s abduction, saying that she had been taken from her bed, wording that Megyn Kelly believes gives new insight into the case and provides a key piece of information. The family also increased the reward for information leading to the return of their beloved matriarch.
In the caption, Savannah wrote, “Someone knows how to find our mom and bring her home. Call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) — you can remain anonymous — or find a way to reach out to me. NOTE: Family reward of up to $1 million will be paid only for recovery of Nancy Guthrie, consistent with FBI criteria for payment of its reward in this case.” She also includes an Instagram handle to help support other families of missing persons.
Celebrities Send Savannah Guthrie Prayers
GettyThe comment section of Savannah’s post is filled with loving and supportive messages from the public and celebrities alike. Actress Halle Berry wrote, “Praying for you all,” followed by a red heart emoji.
Rachel Platten wrote, “My sweet sister. I’m praying for comfort and love and a light in the dark for all of you.”
Danica McKellar wrote, “Praying so hard.” Actress Genesis Rodriguez reacted with two crying emojis and a praying hands icon. Fellow Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon wrote, “Praying for your mama, I know someone can help.”
Actress Frances Fisher wrote, “Lord comfort you.” And stand-up comedian Charles McBee showed his support by writing, “Praying for your mom and your entire family.”
Jewelry designer Erin McDermott reacted with a loving comment. “We are all with you, Savannah. We are praying continually, and not a day has gone by that you haven’t been on our hearts,” she wrote.
Bring Nancy Guthrie Home
The Guthrie family has been appealing to the public for weeks, sharing videos of themselves addressing their mother’s abductor, and circulating footage released by the FBI. This footage shows a masked individual outside of Nancy’s home. It appears to be a man wearing a ski mask and latex gloves. He is also carrying a gun, which is holstered at his waist.
There have been several leads, individuals who have been wrongfully accused by internet sleuths, and information that offered hope, like the DNA sample found at Nancy’s home, only to bring further disappointment.
