Richards and Muldoon met when the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star was 19 and he was 21. The pair grew an instant bond, going on to form a romantic relationship from 1998 to 2000, Us Weekly reported. Despite their decision to remain friends, Richards and Muldoon became even closer over the years, forming a familial-like relationship.

Muldoon died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 19, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 57. News of his death surfaced the following day, leading to the beloved actor’s respective colleagues and loved ones honoring him by sharing their memories and photos.

Richards shared her statement to Instagram on April 21, where she penned a message of deep sadness and longing for more time with her closest companion, Muldoon.

“This is so hard for me to put into words. I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family. My whole adult life & I don’t know it without you,” Richards wrote.

So talented & most underrated actor. And most humble,” she added. “Everything you did was infectious. Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion, and your zest for life.”
