Pros React as ‘DWTS’ Singer Travis Garland Makes Top 44 Acts on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 21

Dancing With the Stars” fans might hear a voice on “America’s Got Talent” Season 21 that sounds very familiar. That’s because the man who sings the songs the “DWTS” couples perform to on the show is now a contestant on “AGT” 2026 this summer. Travis Garland had a big moment this week, performing at Simon Cowell’s house for the Judges’ Callbacks round. After his performance, Garland is officially in the Top 44 acts on “AGT” Season 21 and moving on to the live shows. Check out his performance and reactions from some of the “DWTS” pros below in our “AGT” spoilers.

Garland’s ‘AGT’ Audition

For his initial audition, we learned that Travis used to be part of a boy band that opened for Justin Bieber. That boy band also consisted of Kevin McHale, Justin Joseph “JJ” Thorne, and V Sevani.

While that didn’t work out, Travis decided to go solo. Currently, he works as a singer on “Dancing With the Stars,” but he wants to be out front and center and not behind the scenes.

We heard him sing “Dream On” by Aerosmith, which I loved. However, he got some mixed reviews from the judges. Howie and Simon thought there were too many theatrics in the performance.

New Judges’ Callbacks Round

However, Garland did get three yeses from the judges and a chance to move on to the next round. After discussing the acts and trying to figure out which acts would make the Top 44 and the live shows on “America’s Got Talent” 2026, Simon introduced this new round.

Travis was one of the acts Simon wanted to see again. He, along with five other acts, made his way to Simon’s house in Malibu to perform for him and his guest judges, Normani and Poo Bear.

During a conversation, Simon told Travis he was corny. During his audition, when he removed the glasses, it set off all the judges. Simon told him he just needs to focus on singing the song well.

For this performance, he sang “Love On the Brain” by Rihanna. I thought his audition was great. I think his voice is great. He sings these songs on “Dancing With the Stars,” so why not here? He has such great range and is such a solid singer.

Afterwards, Simon said he did great. Normani said he can technically sing, but he needs the heart and to connect to the song.

Simon thinks he has a god-given talent with his voice, but he has developed some bad habits along the way. He’s trying too hard to perform when he needs to sing. Based on those talents, Simon picked him to move on to the live shows and into the Top 44 on “America’s Got Talent” Season 21.

Pros & Fans React to Results

After the big night, Travis shared some photos and videos on social media. He captioned it, “still on a high 😆🌴🙌🏼 what did you think of this week’s @agt?”

He got some love from “Dancing With the Stars” pro dancer Daniella Karagach in the comments, as she wrote, “🙌🙌🙌.”

He also got some love from Howie Mandel, who wrote, “Perfect,” and Normani added, “A STAAAAAAAR ✨.”
