“General Hospital” fans may know her best from her time in Port Charles, but one star who recently exited the soap has another talent that some viewers may not know about.
The actress recently opened up about her life outside of the soap, leading Maurice Benard to discover a surprising side of his former co-star’s career.
It turns out Benard isn’t the only one impressed. “GH” fans are sounding off about her talent, with some even hoping they’ll get the chance to see and hear more from her.

Paige Herschell Opens Up After Her ‘General Hospital’ Exit
As loyal “General Hospital” fans know, Paige Herschell’s character, Jacinda Bracken, recently made her exit from Port Charles after her then-boyfriend, Michael Corinthos, paid for her to leave town after Jacinda drugged his ex-wife, Willow Cain, putting the lives of his children in jeopardy.
Luckily, neither Wiley nor Amelia was injured due to Jacinda’s little stunt. However, many “GH” fans were sad to see the character and actress exit, with many feeling she made a great pairing with Michael Corinthos.
Shortly after her exit, Herschell sat down with her former “General Hospital” co-star Maurice Benard, who has portrayed Sonny Corinthos for over three decades, on his podcast, “State of Mind with Maurice Benard.”
While Herschell dished on her life and journey to daytime television, she also shared with Benard that she has enjoyed doing musical theater over the years.
That revelation soon led Benard to discover there was even more to his former co-star’s musical talents than he realized.
Maurice Benard Gets a Surprise From His Former Co-Star
Benard shared that his son, Joshua Benard, is also a musician before asking Herschell why she hasn’t put any albums out yet.
Much to Benard’s surprise, Herschell informed the “GH” star that she has indeed put out multiple records already and that she is a member of San Lyon, a gypsy jazz swing band.
Herschell shared that the group sings 1930s- and 1940s-style music, performing various songs in English, French, and Spanish.
San Lyon also recently released an 11-track album, “San Lyon & Friends,” on June 30, 2026.
While Benard may not have known about Herschell’s musical career, it turns out some “General Hospital” fans were already well aware of her talents.

Fans jumped into the comments section to praise Herschell and her music.
“Her band is absolutely awesome !” one fan wrote.

Another fan was equally impressed, writing, “Maurice, I found a ton of musicals on YouTube with her singing- she is absolutely fabulous!!! Biggest mistake in letting her go… She was adorable and perfect balance for Michael!! I adore her. She matches Gio in talent!!!”
As noted by the “GH” fan, Giovanni Mazza is another talented musician on the soap, currently portraying Sonny’s grandson, Gio Palmieri.
While Herschell’s time as Jacinda may have come to an end for now, “GH” fans clearly haven’t forgotten about her. Between viewers praising her musical talents and others hoping to see her return to “General Hospital,” Herschell continues to have plenty of fans cheering her on both inside and outside of Port Charles.
