A video shared to Instagram on August 14, 2026, in a joint post from Hallmark Channel PR, Hallmark’s Chief Communications Officer Annie Howell, and the Alliance for Women in Media, featured MacDowell accepting the honor and speaking about aging, representation, and the opportunities available to women as they get older.
The post also celebrated Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday and highlighted MacDowell’s longtime relationship with the network. They captioned the post:

MacDowell continued her Hallmark connection in 2018 when she starred as Lovie in “The Beach House,” an adaptation of Mary Alice Monroe’s novel.
Then came “The Way Home,” which premiered in 2023 and introduced fans to Del Landry, the mother of Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and grandmother of Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow). The time-traveling family drama became another important part of MacDowell’s Hallmark legacy before ending with its fourth-season finale in 2026.
And while “The Way Home” may be finished, MacDowell’s Hallmark story is definitely not.
Her next project is already confirmed, as she will appear in the upcoming holiday movie “A Grand Biltmore Christmas” (per EntertainmentNow). Hallmark announced MacDowell as part of the cast earlier this year, with the actress playing Aunt Maysilee, Elizabeth’s aunt. The movie also stars Holland Roden, Niall Matter, and Jonathan Frakes, and is coming to Hallmark Channel as part of the 2026 Countdown to Christmas lineup.
That means fans won’t have to wait too long to see MacDowell back on the network.
