“The Voice” Season 30 is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September 21, 2026 on NBC, and there are already some big changes coming to the competition. Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine are returning as coaches, while Riley Green and Queen Latifah will make their coaching debuts.
But that begs the question: Where is Michael Bublé? Fans of the crooner will know that Bublé has had a very busy 2026, with performances and appearances taking him from Canada to Mexico, Los Angeles, the UK, Ireland, Malta, and beyond.
So, while Bublé has not publicly announced he is stepping away from “The Voice” for any specific reason, there are a few pretty good clues that could explain why he is sitting this season out.
Michael Bublé Has a New Country Album in the Works
Honestly, this might be the biggest clue.
Bublé has been talking about a new country album, and it sounds like this is a project he is genuinely excited about. During his appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast in December 2025, he opened up about working with producer Dann Huff and explained just how much the project means to him.
“I love country music, and I have loved country music my whole life. I went to Nashville, I have a producer named Dann Huff… and I have made a love letter to country music. It’s old-school, it’s not like, modern, it’s my interpretation. I have never had an experience that has been better musically. I am so excited to put out this record.”
And Bublé’s interest in country music certainly did not end there.
Following the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards, where he presented Song of the Year to Ella Langley, Bublé shared his appreciation for the country music community. On his official website, he said:
“Country music has a way of making you feel right at home. What an honour it was to be welcomed into such an incredible community and be in a room full of songwriters, dreamers, and good-hearted people. Thank you @ACMawards for inviting me to be part of a truly incredible night. Fingers crossed there will be many more…. Stay tuned y’all 😊.
Yep, there is clearly something happening with this country project, even though an official album title and release date have not been announced.
That makes it pretty easy to see why Bublé might want to focus his attention elsewhere this fall. Recording, preparing to release, promoting, and eventually touring behind a new album could easily take up a significant amount of his time.
‘The Voice’ is a Huge Commitment for Coaches
“The Voice” is not exactly a small commitment. Coaches have to spend significant time filming the competition, working with artists, and being part of the show’s various rounds. With Season 30 beginning in September, the timing may not have worked with everything Bublé already had on his plate.
Between his music career, having just toured internationally, and a new country album, it seems like Bublé has plenty of exciting things happening outside of the red chairs right now. And honestly, taking a season (or two) away could give him the time he needs to focus on those projects without trying to squeeze everything into an already packed schedule.
Michael Bublé May Also Want More Family Time
Of course, there is another important part of Bublé’s life: his family.
Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, have four children together: Noah (2013), Elias (2016), Vida (2018), and Cielo (2022). The couple has also made it clear over the years that they value keeping their children’s privacy, even while occasionally sharing family moments with fans.
That includes sharing glimpses of their family travels.
Bublé recently posted about a family trip to Rome (seen above), writing:
“Arrivederci, Roma❤️ To our beautiful friends at Parco dei Principi, thank you for taking such incredible care of us and for always treating our family like your family. We love you guys and we’re so grateful. We leave Rome happy, in love, very full, completely exhausted and already missing it. Until next time Roma.”
After spending so much of 2026 on the road, it would make sense if Bublé wanted to carve out some time to be with his wife and children, too.
So, let’s be real, there is no confirmed explanation for why Bublé is not returning to “The Voice” Season 30. But between his upcoming album and his family life, there are plenty of positive possibilities.
And who knows? If that country album comes together the way Bublé hopes, fans could eventually get to see him bring that new sound to the “The Voice” stage in a completely different way.
“The Voice” Season 30 premieres on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 8:00pm ET on NBC, streaming next day on Peacock.
