It’s a good day for soap fans who miss Pine Valley, as reports indicate that the new “All My Children” movies are officially moving ahead at Lifetime.
Soap veterans Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who played Hayley and Mateo on “AMC,” have taken another major step in the process by bringing aboard two well-known daytime writers: former “General Hospital,” “One Life to Live,” and “Days of Our Lives” head writer Ron Carlivati, along with newly named “The Young and the Restless” co-head writer Jamey Giddens.

Lifetime’s ‘All My Children’ Movies Take Another Major Step Forward
Jamey Giddens recently took to Instagram to celebrate the exciting news with fans, revealing that he and veteran soap writer Ron Carlivati have been tapped to write the first of two planned “All My Children” reunion movies for Lifetime.
“I’ve been booked and busy in 2026,” Giddens wrote. “Before I received the life-changing offer to co-head write @youngandrestlesscbs, Andrew Stearn (@redcoatroad), the @agnesnixonamc estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos tapped @carlivatiron and me to write the first of two planned All My Children reunion movies for @lifetimetv! God is good. All. The. Time. #AllMyChildren.”
Carlivati also shared his excitement on social media.
“So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting @Jamey_Giddens and me with the first two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!” he wrote.
The news quickly spread throughout the daytime television community.
“GH” stars Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson also shared the announcement on their Stone Cold and the Jackal social media pages, noting that, according to “Daytime Confidential,” veteran television producer Andrew Stearn personally selected Carlivati and Giddens to write the first two films.
The continuation movies will be produced through Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions, with Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) and Eva LaRue (Dr. Maria Santos) reportedly attached to star. Ripa and Consuelos have also teased that they’ll reprise their fan-favorite roles as Haley and Mateo Santos.
