It’s been almost 40 years since viewers first stepped inside the Tanner family’s San Francisco home, and the stars of “Full House” are still a big part of TV nostalgia. The hit ABC show premiered in 1987, following widowed dad Danny Tanner as he raised his three daughters, D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle. Thankfully, he had some help from his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis and best friend Joey Gladstone.
“Full House” ended in 1995 after eight seasons, but that wasn’t the end of the Tanner family. The show eventually returned with Netflix’s “Fuller House,” which ran for five seasons.
So, where is everyone now? The cast has taken some very different paths over the years. There have been Hallmark and Great American Family movies, fashion brands, a run on “Dancing With the Stars,” podcasts, and plenty more. Let’s see what the “Full House” cast is up to today.
Bob Saget
Bob Saget was the man at the center of the Tanner household, playing dad Danny Tanner.
Outside of “Full House,” Saget had a long career in television and comedy. He hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” served as the voice of the future Ted Mosby on “How I Met Your Mother,” and eventually returned as Danny on “Fuller House.”
GettySaget died in January 2022 at the age of 65 after suffering head trauma from an accidental fall. He was survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters.
His “Full House” family has made sure his memory lives on. His former co-stars regularly share stories, photos, and tributes to the actor and comedian.
John Stamos
You can’t talk about ‘90s TV heartthrobs without mentioning John Stamos. He won over fans as the Elvis-loving Uncle Jesse, and he’s still keeping busy today.
Stamos, 62, continues to act and has also maintained his longtime musical connection with The Beach Boys.
GettyLately, fans have been seeing a much different side of him on screen. Stamos plays a villain in the comedy-thriller “Drag” and has also teased a darker role in Season 2 of Netflix’s “The Hunting Wives.”
At home, Stamos has been married to actress and model Caitlin McHugh since 2018. They share a son, Billy.
Dave Coulier
Dave Coulier kept viewers laughing as Joey Gladstone, but the past couple of years have brought some serious challenges for the comedian.
Coulier revealed in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Months after going into remission, he learned he had an unrelated tongue cancer.
Then came the news fans had been waiting for. In May 2026, Coulier announced he was in remission from both cancers.
Since going through his health battles, Coulier has become an advocate for healthier living. He also keeps his “Full House” connection going as co-host of the “Full House Rewind” podcast.
Candace Cameron Bure
Candace Cameron Bure grew up in front of viewers as eldest Tanner daughter D.J. She later returned to the role as one of the leads of Netflix’s “Fuller House.”
These days, Bure has become practically synonymous with made-for-TV Christmas movies. After years as one of Hallmark Channel’s biggest stars, she left the network in 2022 and joined Great American Media, the company behind Great American Family.
She doesn’t just star in movies for the network. Bure also serves as Chief Creative Officer and works behind the scenes developing faith- and family-focused programming.
GettySome big changes are happening at home, too. Two of Bure’s children are expecting babies, which means she’ll soon be a grandmother twice over. She and husband Valeri Bure also celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in June 2026.
Jodie Sweetin
Fans literally watched Jodie Sweetin grow up as middle Tanner sister Stephanie. She also gave the show one of its most memorable catchphrases: “How rude!”
Sweetin is still acting and recently appeared in Hallmark’s “The Jane Mysteries.” She and former co-star Andrea Barber also revisit their “Full House” days on the “How Rude, Tanneritos!” podcast.
GettyThen there’s “Smoke Show,” the live comedy beauty pageant Sweetin co-created and hosts in Los Angeles. “Dancing With the Stars” fans might remember her from Season 22, where she finished in sixth place.
Sweetin has been married to Mescal Wasilewski since 2022 and has two daughters.
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen shared the role of youngest Tanner daughter Michelle, becoming two of the most famous child stars of their generation.
Acting eventually took a back seat to fashion. The twins founded luxury label The Row, with Mary-Kate serving as creative director and Ashley as CEO.
Both have become famously private and were the only major original cast members who didn’t return for “Fuller House.” They haven’t completely lost touch with their TV family, though, and reunited with their former co-stars following Bob Saget’s death.
Lori Loughlin
Lori Loughlin started out as Danny’s “Wake Up, San Francisco” co-host Rebecca Donaldson. She eventually married Uncle Jesse and became Aunt Becky.
Her career took a major hit following the 2019 college admissions scandal, but Loughlin has slowly made her way back to acting.
GettyShe appeared in Prime Video’s “On Call” in 2025, and Hallmark fans have another familiar face coming back to Hope Valley. Loughlin will reprise her role as Abigail Stanton for Season 14 of “When Calls the Heart.”
Her personal life has changed, too. Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli separated in 2025 after nearly 28 years of marriage.
Andrea Barber
Andrea Barber played the Tanner family’s wonderfully quirky neighbor Kimmy Gibbler.
Unlike many child and teen stars, Barber largely walked away from Hollywood after “Full House.” She went to college, started a family, and built a life away from acting.
That changed when “Fuller House” came along. Barber returned as Kimmy, this time as one of the show’s leads.
Today, she and Sweetin host “How Rude, Tanneritos!,” where the real-life friends go back through “Full House” one episode at a time.
Scott Weinger
Scott Weinger played D.J.’s boyfriend Steve Hale, but his career after “Full House” might surprise some fans. Yes, Steve is also the voice of Disney’s Aladdin.
Weinger eventually moved behind the camera and built a successful career as a television writer and producer. His credits include “Black-ish,” “Galavant” and “Paradise.”
That last show brought him some major recognition. Weinger received a 2025 Emmy nomination as a writer and co-executive producer on “Paradise.”
Blake & Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit
Mary-Kate and Ashley weren’t the only twins on “Full House.” Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit played Jesse and Becky’s sons, Nicky and Alex.
The brothers eventually left acting, but they didn’t leave Hollywood completely. Instead, both found careers working in sound.
Dylan became a foley artist and has credits that include “Game of Thrones” and “Furious 7.” Blake has also worked in foley, with credits including “FBI” and “Castle Rock.”
A lot has changed since “Full House” premiered in 1987. Some of the cast stayed in front of the camera, some found completely different careers, and others eventually returned to the Tanner family years later. Nearly four decades later, though, fans are clearly still interested in seeing where life took them.
